Azarenka to compete with Sharapova in quarter-final in Rome
The Belarusian tennis player is the World No.29. The Russian is in the third place in the WTA rankings.
Victoria Azarenka made it to the quarter-final of the Italian Open. The Belarusian defeated Romanian Irina-Camelia Begu in the 1/8 final— 6:4, 5:7, 6:1. Azarenka is the World No.29 and the Romanian is in the 31st position.
Victoria will compete with Russian Maria Sharapova, World No.3, in the quarter-finals.
Victoria Azarenka has already defeated Czech Lucie Hradecká — 7:5, 2:6, 6:1 and Dane Caroline Wozniacki— 6:2, 7:6 in Rome.
The prize fund is $2 707 664.
