Author of website 1863x.com detained in Russia

The author of the Belarusian website 1863x.com has been detained in Russia. He came there from Ukraine. ‘John Silver’ is a nickname (the real name has not been announced). He is about to be extradited to Belarus, civil activist Pavel Yuhnevich told Radio Liberty.

The website 1863х.com publishes texts criticising the Belarusian and Russian authorities. Its author left for Ukraine last year because a criminal case had been started against him for one of the articles in Belarus (one more criminal case was started later). According to Yuhnevich, ‘John Silver’ arrived in Russia to meet with somebody and does not exclude that it could be a provocation.
