Austrian business rushes to Belarus, despite EU warnings

The trade and economic cooperation between Austria and Belarus should be developped, despite the complexity of political relations between the Belarusian state and the European Union, Jochan Zaks, Director General for Foreign Economic Relations at Austria's Federal Ministry of Economy said when meeting Belarus's Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Kabyakow. According to the official, Austrian businessmen are ready to develop relations with Belarusian partners, despite precautions from the European Uninon.

The director general stated that in Austria there are businessmen who are interested in the imports of the Belarusian goods. He also said among Austrian companies that have arrived in Belarus, there are people who have investment intentions and are ready to take part in the privatization of the Belarusian enterprises.
