The map was created by Brest journalists Ina Homich and Maksim Hlyabets and programmer Alyaksei Zhuk. The project Dialects only has a map of Brest Region dialects at the moment. The authors are planning to involve all Belarusians in the project: everyone can record the way people talk in their village or city and send the audio to  [email protected].

"We will be adding dialects of all Belarusian villages and cities to the map. The dialects used in areas situated near the Belarusian border will also be included so that we could see how far our dialects reach and analyze their difference or resemblance to our neighbours’ dialects,” the project founders said.
