Europe comfortably beat the United States to win the inaugural The Match athletics event in Minsk, Belarus, reports BBC.
The Europeans held a 27-point lead after the first day of two and steadily increased their advantage throughout Tuesday to win by a 724.5-601.5 margin.
Belarus too contributed to Europe's victory. Belarusian Anastasiya Mironchyk-Ivanova won the women's long jump event by producing a remarkable 6.74m jump. Ukraine's Maryna Bekh-Romanchuk was second with only 1 cm less and American Brittney Resse in the third place with 6.71m.
