Arlou wanted to be an astronomer, Kullinkovich - a physicist, and Aramnau - a taxi driver

The European Radio for Belarus found out what were the dreams of the Belarusian celebrities at school, why their parents were summoned to the principal, and where Mikalai Lazavik got 9 diplomas.

Before September 1st the European Radio for Belarus decided to find out about the school years of the famous Belarusians, and whether their childhood dreams came true. For example, a Belarusian writer Uladzimir Arlou was interested in astronomy and considered the profession of a morbid anatomist the best one in the world.

Uladzimir Arlou: "When I was 3, I fancied a girl called Liudachka, so I wanted to be her - I invented myself a name - "Liudachka", I wore a head kerchief, so I was a transvestite, but not very long. Then I wanted to be a diver, than a morbid anatomist - that was because we had a neigbour, Zhenia, and I wanted to be like him. My first school dream was to become a spy, I even wrote a short story "I dreamed of being a spy".

Uladzimir added that he was interested in astronomy in high school, and even hoped we would make a discovery someday.

Uladzimir Arlou: "We had an observatory at school, and those were unforgetable impressions. We spent nights on duty there, observed the night sky hoping to discover something. Naturally, we also tried to be scheduled on this duty with girls we liked. There was an opportunity to hug, kiss and touch the girl, which made those duties more fun.

As for the leader of the band Neuro Dubel Aliaksandr Kullinkovich, he was interested in physics at school, and now he slightly regrets that he has quitted it.

Aliaksandr Kullinkovich: "I regret having dropped physics. When I was at school I rarely attended physics lessons as I had passed all the exams in advance, so I went to physics lessons in my free time, it was like a holiday for me. When I moved, there was a teacher who was not interested in teaching, and I was a teenager then. On the whole, I was convinced I knew physics better than the teacher so I ended up with a 2".

The Secretary of the Central Elections Commission Mikalaj Lazavik became a champion in education. As it was found out, he had about 9 diplomas, starting from the prima of the dance collective ending with a Ph.D. in economics. Mikalaj Lazavik considers getting education as his hobby.

Mikalaj Lazavik: "Life forced me to obtain new knowledge with each new step in my careeer. I started post-graduate studies when my children were students. However, we had excellent relations and I felt younger in this situation".

A singer and the leader of the band "Siabry" Anatol Jarmolenka forgot his school life. He said he remembered the first school bell of his daughter Alesia, and did not want to speak about himself. It is no surprise as the girl was chosen to ring the first bell.

Anatol Jarmolenka and Alesia

Alesia: "I was chosen out of all the children to ring the first bell festively, sitting on a shoulder of an 11-form pupil. I recited a poem about school. I remember how I waited for that event, worried about having a beautiful schoolbag, two ribbons and the white apron".

However, Alesia confessed than in spite of such high responsibility on the first school day, she still forced the teachers to call her parents to school later.

Alesia: "My friends and I were late for the first lesson for 10 minutes, I don't remember why. So I was afraid to enter the classroom and decided to go home. However, the teacher noticed me, made me return and called my parents. However, later the situation was clarified".

Olympic champion in weight-lifting Andrej Aramnau told us that his constant high spirits and willing to joke often became the reason for calling his parents to school. As time went by, his behaviour reflected in his academic grades. As for the first day at school, Andrej managed to stand out even then.

Andrej Aramnau: "I lost the way and entered another classroom, which was not mine. Just imagine - I studied in another class for the whole day and understood everything they taught me".

Andrej confessed that he went to school more because of the relations with people than because of knowledge. He dreamed of being a taxi driver in the primary school. His love for cars remained unchanged, however, Andrej does not have a driver's license yet.

As for the coach of Minsk ice hockey club "Junatstva" Mikhail Zakharau, it was not difficult for him to study at school, and he even never came across the question of a future profession, as he had always wanted to be a hockey-player. However, Mikhail Zakharau is still ashamed of something he did at school.

Mikhail Zakharau: "We celebrated my birthday in the 10th form, drank a bit of champaigne and got caught. That was serious. I remember because I felt really uncomfortable - I was a player of the national team of the USSR and got involved in such a scandal".

Only the singer Iryna Darafeeva managed to finish school without summoning parents or problems with academic disciplines, and even got a silver medal, in spite of numerous away concerts with different music bands. One of the brightest moments of Iryna's school life became the prom.

Iryna Darafeeva: "I remembered the prom as I was a rather successful girl at school, I was even called the lead singer of the band "Verasy". Thus, all the boys fancied me and accompanied me home - they knew I would become a singer".
