Are shepherds paid more than programmers?
A yard-keeper in the President’s Administration makes more than a professor. ERB has found the most interesting job offers on the websites of the Ministry of Labour and Minsk City Executive Committee. We found a lot of interesting advertisements on the web page of Minsk City Executive Committee. For example, a yard-keeper can make from 150 thousands a month in a kindergarten to 600 thousands in the Main Department of the Belarusian President’s Administration.
A tax inspector and a professor will be paid only 500 thousand roubles in the Academy of Arts. A programmer will get 450 thousands in Hrodna University.
The position of a system administrator in the Main economic department of the President’s Administration is still vacant. The salary is 1 million 600 thousands. It is the biggest salary offered to system administrators.
There are vacancies of a manicurist (700 thousand roubles) and a hairdresser (1 million roubles) at a unitary enterprise “Kashchei”.
Unfortunately, we have not managed to get the job of a shepherd in Pruzhany district agricultural service. There was such a vacancy but they were too many applicants besides us. It is because the shepherd’s wage was about 1 million roubles!
Employee of Pruzhany district agricultural service: “It’s about a million. The wage is good but the work is hard too”.
It turned out that the shepherd had to work day in day out. Animals have to be looked after 24 hours a day.
ERB also got interested in the vacancy of a postman in Petrykau District. The salary was as much as 62 thousand roubles. However, employees of the local post office calmed us down – it was a quarter-time job.
Employee of Petrykau post office: “The salary is 196 thousands. Postmen who work hard manage to make 400 thousands”.
However, to make good money postmen have to sell consumer goods, help subscribe local inhabitants to editions, sell newspapers and lottery tickets. Otherwise, they will get a bit more than 200 thousands.
There are also vacancies for milkmaids. The wages differ from 200 to 870 thousand roubles. We chose a state farm “Rassvet” in Minsk District.
Employee of “Rassvet” state farm: “If your group works hard you can make a million and even more. However, it will be 300 thousands if you idle and drink vodka”.
At the same time, the salary offered to a governess needed in “Children’s Town” situated in Minsk Lenin District is 1 million roubles. However, candidates should be from 25 to 45 years old and single.
Employee of “Children’s Town”: “Men are not ready to work with orphans in such conditions. They come home, eat the food that children have not eaten, close the door in their rooms and watch TV. And the state provides them with everything”.
