Anatol Baidachny: Belarus National Team has no chance of getting to World Championship
A selection tour of the World Football Championship 2010 took place yesterday. Belarus national team got into “the death group”. ERB decided to find out whether our team had a chance to get to the final of the championship.
A selection tour of the World Football Championship 2010 took place yesterday. Belarus national team got in the 6th group which is called “a death group”. Belarusians played matches with Englishmen and Croatians.
Thus, the goal of getting to the Championship 2010 set by Bernd Schtange becomes unreachable. ERB turned to former coaches of our team and asked them to assess its chances.
Yury Puntus: “There is always a chance. Hope is the last to die. The group is very difficult and it is probably the most difficult for Belarusians. We were unlucky. Probably Croatia has a good chance if you look at the current situation.
This national team has managed to take the first position in such a difficult group. England is also angry. Ukraine is very difficult for us and Kazakhstan too. It will be very difficult to play with all these teams”.
Anatol Baidachny: “Croatia and England… One team will succeed and the other will have to replay. Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan will be fighting with each other. I don’t think that these three teams can be a threat to Croatia and England”.
