Airplane crashes at military parade in Congo

A Russian fighter Su-25 crashed in the north-east of the Congo on Saturday. According to the local mass media, the incident took place in the city of Kisangani during a military parade dated for the Independence Day of the Congo.

The parade was headed by the President of the country Joseph Kabila.

One of the fighters taking part in the parade suddenly lost control and fell on the ground.

The pilot died. There were no other victims. According to representatives of the UN mission in the Congo, the fighter had problems with one of the engines and the pilot reported it after the take-off.

By the way, it’s the second time a Su-25 has crashed in the Congo during the period of one year.

The previous fighter crashed during relocation in December 2006. Its debris has not been found yet.
