Activist suspected of Russian Embassy attack detained in Moscow

Ihar Alinevich, an activist the Belarusian police suspect of having attacked the joint stuff and the Russian Embassy in Minsk this autumn, was detained by Russian security agencies near Bagration Avenue in Moscow on November 28. According to belarus.indymedia.org, one of Ihar’s friends who was also detained for 9 days on suspicion of participation in the attack, tried to make an appointment with him on the Internet the other day. However, 6 agents caught Alinevich on his way to the venue and pushed him in their car. One more Belarusian activist managed to escape. Ihar will probably be extradited home.

Alinevich’s relatives are trying to reveal his whereabouts at the moment.
