Activist in Pinsk seeks to drop fine for 'smuggled' stickers

Alexander Avseenko, a civil activist from Pinsk, is set to file a fresh complaint to the Brest regional court.
For two years, he has been trying to defend his rights in different authorities. Last year when he was returning home from Ukraine, the customs officers found several stickers associated with Alexander Milinkevich, the opposition presidential hopeful.

The man was eventually fined with Br1.5 million for failing to declare goods at the customs border. The amount was later reduced to Br600,000. But Avseenko seeks to restore justice and revoke the fine, under the new administrative code of Belarus.
