About 10 thousand people watched Belarusian film “Square” in Lvov yesterday

An international film festival dated for the Ukrainian Independence Day took place in Lvov on August 25. A documentary “Square” shot by a Belarusian producer Yury Hashchavayski was showed by the All-Ukrainian Association “Svododa” hors concours.
Let us remind you that the film depicts what happened in Minsk in March 2006 when people organized mass protest actions against the falsification of the results of the presidential election.

About 10 thousand people gathered at Valavaya Square to see the film on a big screen. A Belarusian orthodox priest from Lvov Syarhei Horbik told ERB what happened next:

“There were artists who came to Minsk in 1989 and celebrated “Kupalle” together with “Talaka”. They entered the scene and started singing the “Pahonya”. All the present were scanning: “Live Belarus!”

A film “Lessons of Belarusian” was also shown there. Then people commemorated all dead Belarusian democratic activists with a one minute’s silence.
