75th anniversary of reunification of West and East Belarus marked today

Poland, weakened by the war with fascist Germany, could not resist. That is why the Red Army easily occupied the west of Belarus and Ukraine.

September 17, 1939 is one of the most ambiguous dates in the contemporary history of Belarus. On the one hand, the divided territory of Belarus was reunited. On the other hand, the Soviet Union actually joined the WWII on Hitler’s side and brought political terror to West Belarus.
