700 attend October Revolution celebrations in Minsk

A rally to mark 100 years since the October Revolution in Russia tool place on 7 November in the center of Minsk. Radio Svaboda reports some 700 people, mostly Communist Party activists, attended the demonstration, which was accompanied by an Honorable Guards company .

The demonstrators laid flowers to the Lenin Monument, listened to several marches and ended the rally. 

Minsk City Administration's chief ideologue Pavel Skabalan was spotted among the participants.

Two American brothers Jeffrey and Jason who founded an English language school in Minsk, also came holding a Soviet Union flag. According to Belsat TV, the brothers are long time fans of the Soviet Union. They moved to Minsk ten years ago.
