7 Belarusian companies removed from EU ‘black list’

Seven Belarusian enterprises and organizations have been removed from the list of companies affected by the EU sanctions. The updated list has been published on the website of the Official Journal of the European Union today, BelaPAN reports.

The following companies have been removed from the black list:

Private Unitary Enterprise BT Telecommunications belonging to Uladzimir Peftsiyeu, a number of Triple affiliates (NeftekhimTrading, TripleFarm, Triple-Veles) controlled by Yury Chyzh, Univest-M controlled by Anatol Tarnauskia and its subsidiaries Unis Oil and UnivestStroyInvest.

18 enterprises, mostly controlled by Chyzh and Peftsiyeu, are still on the EU black list.

The EU prolonged the visa and economic sanctions imposed on Belarus after the brutal dispersal of the demonstration on the presidential Election Day (December 19, 2010). The companies the EU thought to be supporting the Belarusian regime were affected by economic sanctions.
