500 kiosks disappeared from Vitsebsk over 5 years

Vitsebsk authorities continue getting rid of commercial kiosks. There were about 800 small and handy shops of the kind in the regional centre in 2003 and only 300 have survived until now. The majority of entrepreneurs lose their kiosks when they are refused to prolong their leasing contracts. Businessmen are suggested building so-called pavilions of at least 30 square metres or “easily reachable shops” or to work in local covered markets.

Only kiosks situated at bus-stops are fairly secure. It may be explained by the fact that the majority of them are built into bust-stops as single complexes.
