38 Belarus athletes qualify for Olympics
38 Belarusian athletes have qualified for the 2008 Olympic Games to take place in Beijing, China.
According to the National Olympic Committee, licenses have been won in 4 sports: athletics (19), swimming (10), water jumps (2) and shooting (7).
"Our athletes have displayed performance that is much higher those requirements set out by the international federations", the National Olympic Committee said.
During the 2004 Games in Athenes, 153 Belarusian athletes took part, winning 15 medals (2 gold, 6 silver and 7 bronze) against expected 25.
In China, Belarusian athletes are expected to win 20 medals.
