30 youth activists arrested near Minsk

Police have arrested nearly 30 former members of the unregistered Union of Belarusian Students, who rented a cottage near Minsk to mark the birthday anniversary of one of the friends.

Around 16:00, police and KGB agents broke into the house on the pretext that illegal liquer and drugs had been stored in the building.

The youngsters were ordered into one of the rooms, while the agents searched the house.

The owner of the house has been charged with running a drug joint, while the arrested youth is to be taken to either Pershamajski district police station or to Machulischy.
