15 people on hunger strike in support of entrepreneurs from Vaukavysk

15 prominent pro-democracy activists have announced a hunger strike in support of Mikalai Autukhovich, Yury Liavonau and Uladzimir Asipenka -- the entrepreneurs from Vaukavysk -- who has been held behind bars for almost three months.  The list of the hunger strikers includes Alexander Kozulin, Mikola Statkevich, Liavon Barscheuski, Siarhei Skrabets, Viachaslau Siuchyk. Four Malady Front members -- Nasta Palazhanka, Andrei Tsianiuta, Mikola Dzemidzenka and Artsiom Dubski -- will stay permanently at the office of the Belarusian Popular Front.

Andrei Kim, the former political prisoner and one of the hunger strike participants, told the European Radio for Belarus that the action would spread across the country.

Andrei Kim: “We are confident that the action will be supported nationwide. Anyone can come to the office of the Belarusian Popular Front and announce an indefinite hunger strike”.

Mikalai Autukhovich has been on a hunger strike for over three weeks.
