15 million fine for Maxim Vinyarski

Максіма Вінярскага аштрафавалі амаль на 15 млн рублёў

Judge of the Moscow district court Tatsiana Matyl fined an activist of "European Belarus" Maxim Vinyarski 14 million 700 thousand rubles (70 basic units), the human rights center "Viasna" reports.

The Court was held on January 5. Vinyarski was tried for participation in the Student March, which took place in Minsk on December 2. The activist announced withdrawal of the judge, because she had judged him before, but Tatsiana Matyl rejected the petition. After that, the activist refused to stand up and testify, because he declared mistrust to the court.

After that, as reported by Euroradio, another administrative case - for contempt of court - was launched against Vinyarski.

As a result, the judge sentenced him to a fine: for participating in an unsanctioned event - 10.5 million rubles (50 basic), for contempt of court - 4.2 million rubles (20 basic).
