The Belarusian meat industry is going through its bad times. The production planned to be exported remains in warehouses.
According to the BelTA information agency, a month’s stock of meat prepared to be exported can be found in Minsk warehouses.
Many meat-packing plants are experiencing the same problem. The reason for it is a rather high price of Belarusian meat.
Let us remind you that in December 2006 the horned cattle purchase price increased by 10%, and the price of pigs increased by 5%. At the same time the price of meat went down in Russia. That is why there is no advantage in cooperation with our country for Russia, reports “Komsomolskaya Pravda v Belarusi”.
