14:03 Russian customs officials do not recommend transporting goods through Belarus

Russian customs officials recommend transporting goods past Belarus. The procedure of transporting goods from Russia through Belarus changed on March 13. So there is no export through Belarus at the moment, informs the web site Sluh.ru referring to the head of the customs control department Alena Kastsian.

She explained that Russian customs officials used to get information about the time and number of goods passing the Belarusian border. After that they registered the fact of transporting goods through Belarus.

Then they turned to the tax authorities for compensation of the value added tax according to the registered information. Now this procedure is cancelled and the issues are not regulated in any way, notes the Russian site.

On March 29 the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affaires claimed that they had not seen any order of the Russian Federal customs service about cancellation of export through Belarus, reports “Interfax”.
