14:03 EU ready for cooperation with Belarus
The European Union is ready for economic and humanitarian cooperation with Belarus. But it will only be possible if the Belarusian authorities meet the conditions laid down earlier.
This statement was made by the head of the OCSE Parliamentary Assembly Work Group Uta Zapf at the opening of the seminar “Study of Belarusian possibilities in the framework of the European Neighbourhood Policy” in Minsk.
According to Ms. Zapf, the European community could support reforms in Belarus and help create conditions for fair and free elections. First of all, Europe is waiting for Belarus to release political prisoners, reports “Interfax”.
