У Мінску з'явіцца алея сакуры з 120 дрэваў

A cherry blossom lane will be created in Minsk on May 12. The event will be  dated for the 30th anniversary of Chernobyl Disaster and the 5th anniversary of the accident at the NPP Fukushima-1, BELTA reports.

The cherry blossom lane will be planted in the Park for People’s Friendship. 120 young cherry blossom saplings have been presented to the Ministry of Emergency Control by the Japanese company Japan Tobacco. 30 more saplings have been presented to the Belarus High Technologies Park.

A memory sign of the cherry blossom lane will be installed during the festive opening ceremony.

A cherry blossom (sakura) is one for the main symbols of Japan. The flower view (hanami) is a traditional spring event in Japan. It symbolizes the short duration of life and beauty.

It will not be the first time cherry blossom trees are planted in Belarus. However, the number of planted trees will be the biggest this time.
