100th anniversary of periodic press marked in Slonim
The 100th anniversary of the local periodic press has been marked in Slonim. The first newspaper was out in the spring of 1916.It was a humorous edition in German called Der Schara — Lurch (The Shchara Toad). Over 100 newspapers, magazines and self-published bulletins were out in Slonim District in the past 100 years.
The book History of Periodic Press of Slonim District. 1916-2016 was published in Minsk for the jubilee.
