Zhdanovichy trade center CEO pardoned by Lukashenka
Evgeny Shigalov, CEO Zhdanovichy Trade Center, has been pardoned by the head of the state, Interfax news agency learned from law-enforcement sources. Apart from Shigalov, two more people in this case have been pardoned.
Evgeny Shigalov, his deputy and a government official were arrested in April 2008 in Minsk. They were charged with office abuse and embezzlement.
Shigalov and others took possession of a land plot (over 50 hectars) and caused the losses of natural resources worth of Br85 billion. Earlier reports suggested that Shigalov had refunded this amount.
