Yakub Kolas Square opened after exercise in Minsk metro (photo, video)

The emergency situations buzzer is still heard in the center of Minsk.

The information on the total check-up appeared on the social networks on September 23. The police purposefully searched all passengers at "Uruchcha", "Pershamayskaya" and "Kamennaya Gorka" metro stations with metal detectors.

According to the information provided by Euroradio correspondent Ales Piletski, the policemen are checking all passengers' bags at "Kastrychnitskaya" metro station at the moment. An ambulance vehicle is parked at the entrance to the station, men in plain clothes are standing on duty. About 10 policemen in uniform are working at the turnstiles, checking even the passengers with very small bags.

A jeep of the Ministry for Emergency Situations is parked near the Philarmony building (Yakub Kolas Square), while a fire rescuing truck with the people inside stands right at the entrance to the metro station. There is also a "Crafter" van - some people with a dog walked out of it and checked the ground near the metro. Then they took out the anti-explosion uniform and ran to the station. The entrance to the metro is blocked by special policemen.

At 16.00 the Yakub Kolas metro station is blocked, there is no one at the platform. A big orange object, probably metallic, is seen near one of the columns.

At 16.45 the Yakub Kolas metro station worked in normal regime

Spokesman for Minsk police Alyaksandr Lastouski refused to give any comments on this information to Euroradio.

Interfax writes with a reference to the source close to Minsk metro security service that it was possibly a police exercise. The official Twitter of the Ministry for Emergency Situations @112.by confirmed this.

"The exercise has been held in the conditions maximally close to reality. The metro has proved this", writes the non-official Twitter on the Interior Ministry @mvd_by.
