Ukraine parliament vice-speaker taken off Belarus entry 'black list'

Беларусь выключыла віцэ-спікера Вярхоўнай Рады Украіны з "чорнага спісу"

On the eve of the next round of talks on the situation in Donbass, Belarus removed the vice-speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Irina Gerashchenko from the list of people banned for entry, lb.ua reports.

Gerashchenko officially represents Ukraine as part of the Trilateral contact group. Next group meeting is to be held on 1 June.

Gerashchenko reported on changes in her status in social networks: "On the eve of the next meeting in Minsk, which is scheduled for June 1, I received the following information. Of course, they could apologize to the Vice-Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament, but this will be on their diplomatic conscience.

As was previously reported, Gerashchenko was added to the list of banned for entry in Russia in March 2016, when she tried to come to the trial of Nadiya Savchenko. When the vice-speaker of the Verkhovna Rada went to the talks in Belarus, she also faced difficulties: Belarus and Russia joined databases of undesirable persons. Finally the problem was solved, and Gerashchenko was let into the territory of Belarus, but only until May 25. Now the Belarusian side has removed this restriction.
