Ukraine: Opposition met EU foreign ministers

Opposition leaders Arseniy Yatsenyuk (Batkivshchina), Vitali Klitschko (UDAR) and Oleh Tyahnybok (Svoboda) met French Minister for Foreign Affairs Laurent Fabius, his German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Polish Minister for Foreign Affairs Radoslaw Sikorski.

They discussed the ways to stop the bloodshed and further escalation of the conflict, interfax.com.ua reports. It is necessary to create a demilitarized zone and move the conflict from the streets to the Parliament, Yatsenyuk thinks.

Leader of UDAR Klitschko blames the government for the events in Kiev. The government should resign in order to stop the bloodshed, he thinks. The truce was violated by Berkut – its members tried burning down the conservatoire, Klitschko said. The protesters “spent the night in peace but were deceived,” the leader of UDAR stressed.
