For the first time in the history of Belarusian tennis, two Belarusians will play in the semifinals of the Australian Open. Victoria Azarenka (ranked 24th in the world) was followed by Aryna Sabalenka (ranked 5th in the world), who defeated Donna Vekic (64) from Croatia 6:3, 6:2. She will next play Magda Linette (45) from Poland.
Azarenka will play against Elena Rybakina (25) from Kazakhstan in the semifinals. Victoria twice won the Australian Open - in 2012 and 2013.
