Travel agencies in Belarus face re-registration

All the travel companies in Belarus will have to re-register by January 1, 2008.
The Council of Ministers of Belarus has issued a new measure which regulates procedures associated with the issue of licenses for tourism activities to legal entities and private entrepreneurs. The major amendment requires tour operators to hire qualified staff.

Currently, every travel agency must employ at least 30 percent of graduate staff or experience in the tourism sector of at least three years.

The managers of tour operators or travel agents must have managerial experience in a travel company in order to obtain a license, under the new regulation, reports Ezhednevnik web-based newspaper.
