Sudan opens embassy in Minsk

The Embassy of Sudan was opened on 11 December in Minsk. The ceremony was attended by Belarusian Prime Minister Siarhei Rumas and President of Sudan Omar al-Bashir. Mr Rumas said Sudan remains an important partner in Africa and that ther countries "have excellent relations at all levels and in various fields.' Belarus is prepared to continue to develop mutually benfitial coperation with Sudan in all spheres, the Prime Minister is quoted as saying by his press office. The President of Sudan said that his country was interested in expanding economic cooperation with Belarus, reports BELTA.
