Štefan Füle suggests accepting Ukraine into European Union
The EU may consider further enlargement in connection with the situation in Ukraine, the European Commissioner reckons.
The European Commission has confirmed its suggestion to accept Ukraine into the European Union, Deutsche Welle reports. “If we really want to change the part of Eastern Europe affected by the current events, we need to use the strongest political instrument the EU has and that is expansion. Its force is effective and stabilizing,” European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy Štefan Füle said.
Only the signing of the political part of the Ukraine-EU association agreement was discussed until now.
