Stalin's victims remembered in Mazyr

Members of the organizing committee to found the Belarusian Christian Democracy party joined efforts with the members of the Party of the Belarusian Popular Front on Saturday to commemorate the victims of Stalin's repressions in Mazyr, Homel region. A total of 14 people took part in the action. Pavel Nazdra, the organizing committee's coordinator, told the European Radio for Belarus as follows:

“We gathered and went to the monument to the victims of repressions. We laid flowers and lit candles"..

The monument was erected on the site of massive executions. Even official sources admit that around 500 people were buried there.

Police did not interfere with the event.
