Sport: Homel reaches Belarus hockey open championship final

Homel has become the first finalist of Belarus' Ice Hockey Open Championship. On March 18, the Homel side won the third match in a row in the semis series with Metalurg Zhlobin, defeating the opposition 4:2.

In the two previous clashes, Homel defeated Metalurg 1:0 and 3:0, having secured the silver medals. The Homel team has not won any trophies since 2004 when they became the bronze winners of the national championship.

The other finalist will be determined between Yunost Minsk and Khimvolokno. In a series of three matches, the Mahilyou team is so far leading 2:1. On March 19, the sides will have the fourth game. If this match does not decide the finalist, the teams will play again on March 21 in Minsk, reports Belta.
