Ukraine: Security agents detain Russian spy in Lugansk area (photo, audio)
Russian citizen Roman Bannyh tried crossing the Ukrainian border to organize and coordinate separatist actions in eastern Ukraine.
The detained 29-year-old man turned out to be a Russian soldier. His unit is part of the Russian GRU. Bannyh coordinated the activities of a subversive group in Ukraine from Russia. Its aim was ‘to overthrow the constitutional goverment and seize power and to organize terrorist acts’, UNIAN reports.
The SBU detained members of another similar group in Donetsk Oblast in March. Its head was coordinating their activities with Roman Bannyh (audio).
