Satellite channel “TV Belarus” to start work in November

The Polish civil television has approved a satellite channel “TV Belarus” (“Belsat” trade mark) in its structure.
According to the project’s coordinator, reporter of the Polish civil television Agnieszka Romaszewska, it will allow to finish work on the organizational structure of the channel.

A tender for equipment purchase is being planned at the moment and the probation period of Belarusian journalists continues. The channel “TV Belarus” is going to start its work in November.

Let us remind you that the agreement on creation of a satellite channel was signed by the Polish civil television and the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affaires in April. The project will be financed with the help of the reserve budget of Poland. About 4 million euro is planned to be allocated for “TV Belarus” this year.

At the same time the leader of the movement “For Freedom” Alyaksandr Milinkevich urges European politicians to support the satellite channel. He sent an appeal to the President of the European Parliament, the European Commissar on foreign affairs and the policy of good-neighbourly relations and the head of the commission on foreign affairs of the European Parliament.

“A satellite channel for democratic forces and the civil community will be the beginning of an independent and democratic state”, - claimed the politician.
