Russia has suggested that the other EAEU states annihilate all products having no covering documents, head of the Russian Agricultural Inspectorate Sergei Dankvert told Izvestiya at The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

The idea to annihilate products having no covering documents was pronounced at a meeting of the Eurasian Economic Commission, the official said. Russia suggested it.

It is difficult to assess the quality and origin of such products, the head of the Russian Agricultural Inspectorate stressed. The import of such products is increasing at Russia-Belarus and Russia-Kazakhstan borders.

According to the currently implemented procedure, products without covering documents get sent back to the supplier. Russia returned 4000 tons of such products back to Kazakhstan in the first four months of 2017, Dankvert said.

Russia is annihilating illegal products from the EU, USA, Australia, Canada and Norway now. The practice is part of the trade embargo imposed by Russia. The Russian Agricultural Inspectorate has annihilated more than 11 tons of illegal products since August 2015.
