ROCKachev festival cancelled
All state partners have suddenly refused from it.
The organizers are ready to use any trademark as a brand for ROCKachev now.
“State enterprises were our partners. State enterprises cannot sponsor mass events in Belarus. But they can pay for putting their advertisements on billboards and on stage. We could compensate for our expenses this way ,” organizer of ROCKachev Andrei Ivanenka told Euroradio. “I will not name the enterprises. But they received information that made them refuse from our festival all at once.”
The organizers did not manage to find new sponsors in Rahachou. That is why they decided to cancel the festival. They have not calculated their losses yet. The sum may reach 2-50 million roubles.
The festival of alternative music ROCKachev had to take place on August 24. 44 bands and the Russian headliner Stigmata were supposed to take part in it. 40 of them agreed to participate without any fee, Andrei Ivanenka said. The money made on tickets was supposed to be used for a little boy’s treatment (Vanya Sarankou).
“When musicians from SEX learnt it, the offered us their own money,” Andrei Ivanenka noted. “They urged the other musicians to club together and present at least 100 euro per band. I do not know what I should say to the boy’s mother now. It’s a shame.”
