Belarus has no plans to raise retirement age (video)

The statement was made Alyaksandr Lukashenka during a meeting with the workforce of the Orsha linen factory, reports BELTA

However, he believes that the country has long had the need to raise the retirement age. "But you do not want that. And I promised you that, before we do this, we will consult with you. But keep in mind: this will affect your pension,"  warned Lukashenka.

According to him, the higher retirement age would mean the increased pension; "But if you do not want it - fine. Let's find other ways."

Lukashenka pointed out that the country has one pensioner accounts for 1.3 working persons. He noted that this is not normal and it is necessary that the ratio was at least 1:3.
