Crude oil quotas for Belarus on agenda in Moscow
Russia and Belarus are in difficult talks over the crude oil shipment balance for 2013.
Belarus wants to get 23
million tons of crude from Russia this year, while Russia is ready to ship only
18,5 million tons.
According to Radio Liberty, the hot topic discussion will take
place at the session of the so-called high level Group of the Council of
Ministers of the Union State. They will also discuss possible loans from Russia to support the construction of the nuclear power plant in Astravets, weestern Belarus.
The bilateral group is headed by Russia's Vice-PM Igor Shuvalov
and former deputy head of the Belarusian government, chairman of the board of
the Development Bank Syarhei Rumas. If they fail to agree, the
issue of crude oil shipment will be discussed by Alyaksandr Lukashenka
and Vladimir Putin during their meeting in St. Petersburg on
March 15.
