Protest action in Moscow gathers more than 50 thousand people (photo)
Participants of the action demanded resignation of CEC Chairman Uladzimir Churau and reconsideration of the Duma election's results. The next action - Dec.24.
Apart from that, the demonstrants demanded to release all activists who had been detained at the previous actions. The demonstration took place in the Bolotnaya Square in Moscow. It was organized by both representatives of political parties and ordinary citizens via social networks. Initially, it was planned that about 30 thousand people would take part in the action of protest. The police did not detain the participants of the demonstration.
Let us remind you, protest actions have been held in Moscow and St. Petersburg, as well as in other big cities in Russia, since Monday. The demonstrants are dissatisfied with the official election's results, according to which the party "United Russia" got nearly 50% of votes at the election to the State Duma. They demand to reconsider the election's results and to release all those who had been detained at the protest actions.
