Pressball: Hockey players demanded $500K for making it to Sochi Olympics

"I was deeply impressed by one detail after our hockey players were defeated by Slovenians. I heard this detail from a high-ranking sports official, writes Novikau. It turns out that, before leaving for the qualification round in Vojens, Belarus team put a question of the award fee directly - half a million dollars "all-around price" for making it to Sochi. However, it is not important now whether they were promised this money or not..."
The Belarusian national hockey team did qualify for the Sochi Olympics. Slovenia won the qualification tournament in Denmark and will go to Sochi.
