Photo fact: a statement of a deputy candidate on withdrawal from election
Members of the UCP and the BPF already filed requests to "free them from deputy candidates authorizations beforehand" to the district elections commissions.
A deputy candidate at the Hrodna-Central electoral district No. 50, BPF member Vadzim Saranchukou published his statement in the social networks. In it, he explains the reasons for withdrawal from the election: political prisoners are still in prisons, the process of the elections commissions' formation is "closed and non-transparent", there's no freedom of media, and the state propaganda "creates the atmosphere of fear and mistrust."
Saranchukou also noted that "the control of the vote counting is not possible." Therefore, he said that the elections to the House of Representatives "cannot be considered free, open and democratic."
Let us remind you, the United Civil Party and the BPF Party took the decision to withdraw from the election on September 15. 38 UCP candidates and 31 BPF candidates left the electoral race.
