Minsk regional executive committee: "Bulbash-Hall" construction suspended
As for "actual borders and protection zone" of Kurapaty, they will be established.
This is the
response of the land surveying service of Minsk regional executive committee to
the inquiry of civil activist Hanna Shaputska on violation of the Kurapaty
memorial protection zone.
The letter tells about "4 residential buildings in the protection zone of
the historical and cultural value", the construction of which "has
been suspended". As for the main building of the "Bulbash Hall",
it is mentioned in the letter indirectly - "the zone of regulated
construction will be established additionally". At the same time, it is
not informed whether the four buildings that broke the protection zone will be
demolished.
The letter also reminds that on November 27, 2012 the General Public
Prosecution made a submission to Minsk regional executive committee "On
liquidation of law violation with regard to protection of a historical and
cultural value, as well as the reasons and conditions, favourable
thereof".
"Elaboration of detailed territory planning", mentioned by Minsk city
executive committee's officials, can mean fixation of the current protection
zone (violated by the constructors of the "Bulbash-Hall"), or its
decrease. In this case, all the current buildings will remain untouched. If the
protection zone is expanded (which is unlikely), the "Bulbash-Hall"
will be ruined.
