Minsk police consider balloons in subway "potentially explosive"

They wanted to remind about the former state symbols and to cheer women up before the holiday. For this, they planned to bring red and white balloons, filled  with helium.

However, policemen prohibited them to enter the subway with the balloons because they were...potentially explosive. They detained about 5 activists and took the helium container and balloons from them.

"A policeman approached us and said it was prohibited to enter subway with balloons, as they were very "potentially explosive", that it was forbidden by the subway rules. They wrote this in the charges made against the detained...I was mostly impressed by the fact that there were about 50 policemen and KGB agents, for just 20 participants of the action, — a participant of the action has informed to Euroradio.

Let us note that all the detained were released after making charges.
