Lukashenka: Martynau applied for discharge himself

On Wednesday, the state leader has presented Uladzimir Makey at the position of the Minister for Foreign Affairs. Alyaksandr Lukashenka said that there are no serious mistakes and failures which could "give a negative impact to the future of our state", in the Belarusian foreign policy, informs "Interfax-West"

Let us remind you, on Monday it became known that head of the Presidential Administration Uladzimir Makey had been appointed as a new Minister for Foreign Affairs. He replaced Syarhei Martynau, who had been a Minister since 2003.

According to Lukashenka, he thought about whom to appoint as a head of the Foreign Ministry. The state leader says that Makey has not only marked himself inside the apparatus of the MFA, but has also worked in the foreign representations. He is supposed to help to normalize relations with the West.
