Hillary Clinton criticizes elections in Belarus and Ukraine
The U.S. State Secretary gave such estimations on Thursday, November 29.
Clinton made a speech in
the Brookings Institute. Her speech was dedicated to the America-Europe
relationship, reports RIA
Novosti.
According to Hillary Clinton, the October parliamentary election in Ukraine was
a step backwards in terms of the country's democratic development. In Belarus,
notes the U.S. State Secretary, the authorities continue oppression of human
rights on a systematic basis. In connection with that Clinton repeated the call
for release of political prisoners and declared her support to the activists
who stand for the defense of the Belarusian people's rights.
Alongside with that she
informed that the USA praises the election in Georgia and the first case of
peaceful transfer of power in this country in history.
