Exposition of authentic national costumes opens in Homel (photo)

It is situated in the exposition hall of the main building of Francysk Skaryna Homel State University. The initiator of the happening is Pyatro Tsalka, a 5th-year student. He studies Belarusian culture in the philology department. Pyatro has explained that he does not only care about the things he is doing – he cannot imagine his life without them.

Traditional costumes of inhabitants of Homel Province from the fund of Homel castle and park ensemble and Vetka Museum of the Local Lore are displayed at the exposition. Visitors can also look at rural life items from the fund of the folklore and ethnography band “Wanderer” and pictures made by Homel youth local lore civil organization “Talaka”. By the way, its members sang a few national songs and danced to the pipe at the opening ceremony of the exposition.

The exposition will be open for everyone until September 16. Admission free.
