European Commission stands against Ukraine's participation in Customs Union
Ukraine's involvement into the Customs Union and agreement on Ukraine-EU association cannot be combined.
If the
official Kyiv chooses full or partial integration into the Customs Union,
Ukraine will have to choose the regulations under which the country will reform
its legislation - either in accordance with the EU legislation or the one used
within the Customs Union.
The European Commission considers it impossible that Ukraine could reform its
legislation in accordance with the requirements of the EU and the Customs Union
at the same time, notes interfax.by.
The officials say that Ukraine will be unable to implement and realize any more
or less independent bilateral trading policy if it transfers its sovereignty to
the Customs Union in the sphere of tariffs and other key commercial issues.
